Mobile Notary Fees

Travel fees start at $55, plus $15 per notarized signature

Your total price depends on the location, appointment time, urgency, number of notarized signatures, and any additional services requested. We will confirm the applicable fees before your appointment.

• The $55 travel fee is credited when 12 or more signatures are notarized during the appointment.

• A waiting fee of $2 per minute applies after the first 15 minutes of waiting.

• The travel fee still applies if the signer refuses or is unable to complete the notarization.

• At least 30 minutes’ notice is required for cancellation.

• Additional fees may apply for printing, witnesses, scanning, courier service, recording, or shipping.

What to Have Ready for Your Notary Appointment

To help your appointment proceed smoothly:

1. Have the document printed and ready to sign, but do not sign it until the notary instructs you to do so.

2. Each signer should have a current form of identification acceptable under California law.

3. Fill in all appropriate blank spaces before the notary arrives.

4. Confirm with the document preparer or receiving party whether witnesses are required.

5. Make sure every signer is willing, alert, and able to communicate directly with the notary.

6. Tell us in advance if you need document printing, witnesses, scanbacks, shipping, or courier service.

If a signer does not have acceptable identification, two credible identifying witnesses with acceptable forms of ID may often be used. Please call before booking so we can review the requirements with you.

What identification can a California notary accept?

Commonly accepted identification includes a current state driver’s license, state identification card, or U.S. passport. Certain foreign passports and other government-issued identification may also qualify if they meet California requirements. Contact us before booking if you are unsure whether your identification is acceptable.

Can you provide witnesses?

We can often arrange one or more witnesses for an additional fee when requested in advance. Some documents require disinterested witnesses. Please confirm the witness requirements with the document preparer or receiving party because a notary cannot provide legal advice about your document.

Can you notarize a document written in another language?

A California notary may be able to notarize a signature on a foreign-language document when the notarial certificate is in English and the notary can communicate directly with the signer. Contact us before booking so we can review the circumstances.

Do you offer remote online notarization?

California notaries currently perform traditional notarizations in person. When appropriate, we will connect you with a remote online notary commissioned in a state that authorizes RON. Please email laurel@sfnotary.com for more information. Confirm with the receiving party that a remotely notarized document will be accepted before proceeding.

Can you obtain an apostille after my document is notarized?

Yes. If the document will be used in another country, we can obtain a California apostille or coordinate any additional authentication and embassy or consulate legalization required for its destination.
